About this tour
This Wonders of Morocco tour starts in Tangier and winds through the Blue City of Chefchaouen and a wine-tasting stop near Meknes before settling into Fez’s living medina.
A desert night at Merzouga and a cooking class in the oasis of Skoura lead into Aït Ben Haddou and Marrakech, where the trip closes with a curated look at the city’s artisan and culinary side.
This is our most elevated version of the classic north-to-south route, with a slower pace and a few distinctive touches — a vineyard lunch, a coffee tasting — not found on our other itineraries.
As a Moroccan local operator, we hand-pick every riad, camp and guide on this route. Every itinerary can be tailored to your dates, pace and interests.

The journey
Your private driver meets you on arrival in Tangier and transfers you to your hotel or riad. In the afternoon, take a leisurely walk through Tangier’s enchanting Kasbah and bustling medina, then enjoy a refined welcome dinner at the elegant Villa Mabrouka, the former residence of Yves Saint Laurent, set in lush gardens overlooking the sea.
Leave Tangier behind and journey into the Rif Mountains toward Chefchaouen, Morocco’s famed Blue City. Stroll through the peaceful blue-washed alleys, photograph the iconic Plaza Uta el-Hammam, and browse artisan stalls before settling into a traditional guesthouse for the evening.
Continue south toward Meknes, one of Morocco’s imperial cities, for a gourmet lunch and wine tasting at a beautiful Moroccan vineyard surrounded by rolling hills and olive groves. Continue to Fez and check into a traditional riad in the heart of the medina.
A guided walking tour of Fez el-Bali, the world’s largest medieval medina, visiting Al Quaraouiyine University, the Bou Inania Madrasa, and the artisan quarters. In the afternoon, browse the souks for handwoven rugs, pottery, and leather goods, before an elegant Fassi dinner at one of the city’s most luxurious riads.
A full-day scenic drive through the Middle Atlas Mountains to the golden dunes of Merzouga. By sunset, mount a camel for a ride across the Erg Chebbi dunes, then settle into a luxury desert camp for a Berber-style dinner with live music beneath the starlit sky.
Continue westward along the legendary Road of a Thousand Kasbahs, passing dramatic desert and mountain landscapes, to arrive in Skoura, a quiet oasis filled with palm groves and mudbrick kasbahs, for a peaceful evening under the stars.
Begin the day with a hands-on Moroccan cooking class, learning to prepare dishes such as tagine or couscous with fresh herbs and spices, followed by a peaceful afternoon walk among the palm groves and small family farms of the oasis.
Drive to Marrakech, stopping en route to explore the iconic Aït Ben Haddou, a UNESCO-listed mudbrick ksar famous for its film appearances. Arrive in Marrakech by late afternoon and check into your centrally located riad.
Visit the Dar El Bacha Museum, followed by coffee or tea at the elegant Bacha Coffee House, then a guided tour through the medina’s souks for designer kaftans, organic argan oil, and handwoven textiles. The afternoon is free for shopping or a traditional hammam and spa experience, before a farewell dinner at a fine rooftop restaurant.
Enjoy breakfast at your riad or hotel before your private driver transfers you to Marrakech Menara Airport according to your departure time.
