About this tour
This Marrakech to Casablanca tour starts in Marrakech and crosses the High Atlas to Aït Ben Haddou and the Dades Valley before two days exploring the Sahara at Merzouga.
From the desert, the journey heads north through Fes’s living medina and the Roman ruins of Volubilis to the blue-washed streets of Chefchaouen, before finishing with Rabat and Casablanca.
This is one of our broadest single loops — genuinely covering Morocco’s desert, imperial, and coastal faces in ten days.
As a Moroccan local operator, we hand-pick every riad, camp and guide on this route. Every itinerary can be tailored to your dates, pace and interests.

The journey
Arrive at Marrakech airport and meet your driver for the transfer to your riad, with an optional short city tour to get acquainted with Marrakech.
A full day exploring the historical city of Marrakech, the ‘Pearl of the South’ — the Koutoubia Mosque, the Menara Pavilion, the Saadian Tombs, the Bahia Palace, and the Majorelle Gardens — followed by the colorful souks and the theater of Jemaa el-Fnaa Square.
Cross the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, stopping at the UNESCO World Heritage site of Aït Ben Haddou. Continue to Ouarzazate, home to Africa’s largest film studio, before driving to the Dades Valley through the Valley of Roses at Kelaa M’Gouna.
Stop for photos near the palm oasis of Tinghir, then visit the dramatic Todra Gorge for a walk along the river. Continue through Erfoud, known for its fossil workshops, before a camel ride to your desert camp for a traditional Moroccan dinner and Berber songs under the stars.
Rise early to witness the sunrise over the dunes, then meet your 4×4 driver for an excursion through the Sahara — visiting local Berber nomads and the old M’fis mines, with a Gnaoua performance and local lunch at Khamlia. The afternoon offers optional sandboarding, quad biking, or buggy riding.
A long but rewarding drive north through the Ziz Valley and Midelt, known for its apple orchards, continuing through Ifrane — Morocco’s alpine-style town — and the cedar forests of Azrou before arriving in Fes for the evening.
A private sightseeing tour through the narrow streets of Fes’s ancient Medina, visiting the Bou Inania Mosque, historic madrasas, Nejjarine Square, the artisan quarters, and the historic Jewish quarter reflecting centuries of coexistence.
Transfer to Meknes for a brief tour, then continue to the Roman ruins of Volubilis, one of the best-preserved sites of its kind in North Africa. Afterward, head to Chefchaouen, the picturesque Blue City, with free time to explore at your own pace.
Drive to Rabat, Morocco’s capital, to explore the Oudayas Kasbah, the Hassan Tower, and the historic site of Bab Chellah, before continuing to Casablanca to visit the Hassan II Mosque. (If your departure flight is from Marrakech, this day can instead return there.)
Enjoy free time in Casablanca depending on your flight schedule, before a private transfer to the airport for your departure.
Itinerary can be adjusted to your dates, pace and interests.

You’ll arrive at Marrakech Menara Airport and depart from Casablanca Mohammed V International Airport — a one-way loop, so book your flights accordingly. If your return flight is from Marrakech instead, let us know and we’ll adjust the final day.
Yes. This itinerary can be adjusted to your dates, pace and interests — extra nights in any city, a different accommodation tier, or changes to the route are all possible. Tell us what you’d like and we’ll tailor it.
A 30% deposit confirms your booking — pay it directly via our “Down Payment” option, or choose “Book Now, Pay Later” and we’ll send payment details by PayPal, Wise, or bank transfer. The remaining balance is settled in Morocco.
The remaining balance can be paid in Morocco — cash (no fee), Wise (no fee), PayPal (5% fee), or credit card (3% fee, in MAD). Your deposit isn’t locked to this one trip: it’s valid toward any private tour we run, in Morocco or elsewhere we operate (Egypt, Jordan, Tanzania, Tunisia, Mauritania, and more), and it can be transferred to a family member, friend, or anyone you refer to us.
If we need to cancel (extremely rare, emergency only), your deposit is refunded in full. If you need to cancel: the deposit is non-refundable, but canceling 30+ days before departure lets you apply it to a postponed trip within the next two years, at no extra cost. Canceling within 0–29 days of departure may carry a hotel cancellation charge, which varies by property — we only pass on what we’re actually charged, nothing more.
Travel insurance is not included in this tour and is not provided by us, but we strongly recommend arranging it before you travel.
Visa requirements depend on your nationality — many visitors (including from the EU, UK, US and Canada) can enter visa-free for stays up to 90 days, but you should confirm your own country’s requirement before booking flights.
