From Fes you head south — through the Roman ruins of Volubilis, across the Middle Atlas, into the desert. The Sahara at Erg Chebbi: camelback at sunset, a luxury desert camp, a sky full of stars. Days 1 & 2

Casablanca & Rabat

You land in Casablanca — a city that pulses with modern energy while carrying the quiet weight of its romantic past. The first thing most visitors see is the Hassan II Mosque, and it stops them completely: its minaret is the tallest religious structure in the world, built over the Atlantic Ocean, and one of the very few mosques in Morocco open to non-Muslims. Then to Rabat, Morocco’s understated capital — the Mohammed V Mausoleum with its ceremonial guards in traditional dress, the Hassan Tower, and the Kasbah of the Oudayas with its blue-and-white streets overlooking the river and the sea. A welcome dinner together marks the real beginning of the journey.

Days 3 & 4

Fes & Volubilis

Two days in Fes — and two days is exactly what this city needs. A full guided day inside Fes el-Bali, the world’s largest car-free medieval city: the Karaouine, founded in 859 CE and one of the oldest functioning universities on earth; the Nejjarine Square; the Royal Palace golden gates; the labyrinthine souks where bronze workers, potters, and weavers practice trades unchanged for generations; and the Chouara Tannery, where leather has been dyed in stone vats using natural pigments for a thousand years. Then Volubilis — Morocco’s finest Roman ruins, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where triumphal arches and extraordinary mosaic floors have survived two millennia remarkably intact. A lunch in the countryside near Meknes follows, surrounded by olive groves.

Days 5 & 6

The Sahara Desert

The drive south from the Meknes region is one of the great Moroccan journeys — through the Middle Atlas, past Berber villages and date palm plantations, and into the desert fringes. You pass through Erfoud and on to Rissani, the historic caravan town at the edge of the Sahara, before heading out into the dunes of Erg Chebbi by 4×4 and then by camelback. The luxury desert camp awaits at sunset: mint tea and pastries on arrival, a sundowner as the dunes change colour, a traditional dinner around the campfire with Moroccan music filling the desert air. Days 7 & 8

Road of a Thousand Kasbahs & Ait Benhaddou

The westward journey from the Sahara follows ancient caravan routes through the most cinematic landscape in Morocco. The flourishing Dades Valley, the dramatic High Atlas views, and the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs — fortified mud-brick towers rising from palm oases along the valley floor, each one slightly different, many still inhabited. Ouarzazate, once a French garrison and African trading post, now a regional hub and film location. Then Ait Benhaddou — the UNESCO-listed ksar that appeared in Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator, Game of Thrones, and dozens of others. Climb through its ancient passages to the granary at the summit and understand immediately why this place has been filmed continuously for half a century. Days 9, 10 & 11

Marrakech, The Red City

Three days in Marrakech — enough time to actually understand it. Your expert local guide takes you through the medina, a UNESCO World Heritage Site: the soaring Koutoubia Minaret, Ben Youssef Madrassa with its intricately carved cedar courtyard once the largest Islamic college in the Maghreb, and Djemaa el-Fnaa as it erupts at dusk into vendors, acrobats, musicians, and storytellers. The second day is yours to design — a cooking class with Moroccan spices, a deep dive into the souks with a guide who knows where the authentic workshops are, or the Jardin Majorelle and YSL Museum for a different side of Marrakech entirely.
